The Salomon XT-6 Reaches Peak HypeRelease: 27 September 2021
The rise and rise of Salomon continues with the sure-footed and head-turning trail machine that is the XT-6. More or less unchanged since its 2013 introduction, the XT-6 has evolved beyond its ultra-distance, off-road racing pedigree to become a multidisciplinary and mixed surface master. With a growing archive of colour combinations, Salomon will undoubtedly have an option for everybody’s tastes. The creatively named Quarry/Evening Primrose that’s just dropped is highly recommended for immediate public consumption.
The techy looking colourways of the XT-6 are among its best, and this edition wholly embraces that with its utilitarian grey mesh base. Deep navy mudguards are welded directly onto this mesh, providing protection against abrasions from both curbs and canyons, which simultaneously ups the water resistance. The stowable Quicklace system – a mainstay of Salomon’s performance offerings – is installed through minimalist loops and locks down the tongue’s mesh inner sleeve.
Underfoot, a triumvirate of sole tech in the AC2 agile chassis, OrthoLite insoles, and chevron rubber tread achieves stability, comfort and grip. This colourway highlights all that hardware in vivid yellow and blue – aside from the all-black and all-white editions, the XT-6 has never been afraid to show its true colours!
Technical thrillseekers, GORP geeks, and everyone in between, head over to Hype DC now to salvage the new Salomon XT-6.
