Another colourway of the growing sacai x Nike Blazer Low collaborations is primed for release soon, following the recent ‘Classic Green’ and ‘Magma Orange’ releases. Add on the ‘British Tan’ and alleged KAWS three-way, and the result is an upcoming busy time for the Blazer.

The chopped-down ankle height seems to be the new pathway for sacai and the Swoosh to prolong their once enthralling partnership that began in 2015 before reaching fever pitch in 2019. The Blazer was one of the models from that breakout collection two years ago, thanks to its chimeric collision of the 70s basketball classic and the en vogue Dunk, rendered in all sorts of crazy colours. As time goes by, the new colourways are more restrained; it can be argued they’re much more accessible for those intrigued by the hybrid theory but lacking the confidence to pull off the in-your-face look of the first releases.

Barring a ‘Triple White’ or black edition, it doesn’t get much safer than ‘Iron Grey’, which is used here to really emphasise the ebony and ivory slash Jekyll and Hyde stylings of the sacai Blazer. The cut-down ankles reveal pre-requisite foam collars while retaining the heavily built-up heel counters, which, if anything, should provide some welcome support.

The sacai x Nike Blazer Low ‘Iron Grey’ is due to release on August 4.
