The Reebok Premier Road Modern is Bold in Blue

Reebok may put a lot of effort into reissuing their retro gems, but there is a healthy investment into cutting edge models like the Premier Road Modern. Korean outfit KANGHYUK have most prominently championed this revamped model, which references the ‘Bok’s Premier Running project from the mid-2000s while adding modern manufacturing elements. However, the Premier Road Modern’s GR colourways are just as engaging, as evidenced by this bold blue edition.

The one-piece moulded upper adds textural variation and functional structure, sleekly integrating Reebok’s vector logo. Open mesh underlays have been a functional feature for decades, and there’s no real reason to change. As is the retention of now-classical performance concepts, aka the DMX Ride system, which is namely a dual density midsole that cushions and supports, paired to a stabilising TPU shank.

Even if it’s a futuristic AF design – perhaps it’s the main reason for this – the Premier Road Modern is a chameleon for colourways. Previously seen in rusty browns, all-grey, and strawberries-and-cream colabs, this new GR is blueberry sweet. There is a tiny touch of contrast via black outsole accents and shoelace strips.
