Move over the Instapump Fury, because Reebok have a new futuristic AF sneaker called the Model F. While this new style does owe this ‘Citron’ colourway and its audacious DNA to the Fury, the similarities end there. This is an all-new offering to the Vector brand’s lifestyle offering.

Designed with contemporary construction methods in mind, there are some ubiquitous cues here. For example, the internal bootie structure has been a consistent feature of sneakers today, but Reebok add their own twist by grafting a Pump inflation and release mechanism onto the tongue. Which means it likely can fill up an internal chamber with air to adjust the fit, just like how the Fury did over 25 years ago. However, a traditional lace system is included to further cinch the foot – after all, why mess with a classic?

What isn’t classic, at least by retro standards, is the upper. Its panels are completely welded with not a stitch in sight. The neon yellow sections split to reveal breathable ripstop underlays, and red tips bookmark the design. Underfoot, Hexalite inserts deep in the heel supply extra cushioning through the wide based foam midsole.

The Reebok Model F is available (but almost sold out) from atmos, and it looks like pairs will be hitting Reebok Japan too.
