A deeply revered silhouette from Kobe Bryant’s vast sneaker catalogue, the Nike Kobe 6 has enjoyed strong cultural relevance since its release in 2010. Designed by sneaker veteran Eric Avar, the Kobe 6 is still manufactured with polyurethane ‘island’ uppers, the silhouette originally drawing inspiration from snake skin.

Scheduled to release alongside other notable colourways like ‘Chaos’, ‘Del Sol’ and ‘Bruce Lee’ in 2021, the latest reveal comes in the form of ‘Orange County’. One of four Kobe 6 colourways landing during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game, the ‘Orange County’ colourway pays homage to Southern California.

Taking aesthetic cues from the inimitable Californian sunset, the Orange Peel, black, and Cannon colour palette has lost none of its original allure, the teal coloured outsole and classic illustrative starfish printed on the insole to complete the design.

Of course, the Kobe 6 retro still features a dual-layer memory foam sockliner, Phylon-injected midsole, and Zoom Air units.

Look for the Nike Kobe 6 ‘Orange County’ to release during the early parts of 2021. The retail is set at $180.
