Official Look: Nike Kobe 4 Protro 'Philly'

Update December 20, 2023: The rumours are looking pretty solid right, with a good look of the Nike Kobe 4 Protro 'Philly' surfacing courtesy of @solesbyzay_backup. August 24, 2023 is set to be a big day for fans of Kobe Bryant, with Nike having announced that the late basketballer’s signature line will be relaunched. The Nike Kobe 4 Protro ‘Gigi’ dropped on May 1, which would’ve been Gigi Bryant’s 17th birthday. Now, there are rumours that the next in line for a relaunch is the Nike Kobe 4 Protro in the ‘Philly’ colourway.

The image above is of the original 2009 Kobe 4 release, but the 2024 release is looking to have the same design elements with the added Protro technology. The patriotic pair features ‘Varsity Royal’ uppers with a white Swoosh outlined in ‘University Red’, and this red appears again in the interior linings and on a pattern along the laces. Light blue stars feature on the collars, which adds to its patriotic feel, while also paying homage to Kobe Bryant’s father, who played for the Philadelphia 76ers. The final touch is the inscription of Bryant’s birth date, 8-23-78, along the insoles.

The Nike Kobe 4 Protro ‘Philly’ has been tentatively scheduled for release in mid-2024 for RRP of $180. Stay locked for official updates.
