The Nike Dunk High ‘Dark Russet’ Finally Getting US ReleaseRelease: 6 March 2021
Despite arguably being the epicentre of the sneaker universe – not to mention the fact Nike WHQ is based there – America doesn’t always get the big sneaker releases first. The latest example is the Dunk High ‘Dark Russet’, which released at international retailers in late January, and is about to finally see a drop Stateside.
The incessant inundation of Dunk content in the sneakersphere should mean this colourway can be seen in the mind’s eye. But for those just hopping aboard the bandwagon at this very moment, this Dunk’s distinction lies in its all-suede uppers, versus the usual smooth leather variants. Generally speaking, the hardy aniline material build is more commonly found on the Dunk’s skateboarding spinoff, but this one is not an SB. Rather, it loosely channels casual suede Dunk redos like the ‘Viotech’ and ‘Ugly Duckling’ pack.
Pair the fuzzy stuff with tasteful earth tones of Velvet Brown/Dark Russet/Dark Curry/Sail, and the result is an easy-to-wear (and easy-to-resell, based on current secondary market prices) sneaker. For the sneaker nerds, this is a PRM tier Dunk, so expect the materials to be a notch above the recent BTTYS-style releases – just peep those densely woven laces!
The Nike Dunk High ‘Dark Russet’ releases again via Nike SNKRS on March 6.
