The Nike Air Tuned Max Shines in ‘Metallic Silver’Release: 27 July 2021
Returning this year for the first time since its debut in 1999, the Nike Air Tuned Max is now hitting shelves in an industrial ‘Metallic Silver’ colourway.
Not forming part of the original cast of designs in ‘99, the Air Tuned Max is of course manufactured in breathable black mesh uppers and tonal TPU detailing. The synthetic leather overlays are all rendered in alternating hues of grey and black, while moulded Foamposite panels surround the heel and full-length Tuned Air unit.
Known for its limited use of Nike iconography (the Tuned Max features only a small Swoosh on the heel and tongue), the silhouette was recently also reinvigorated by Skepta’s 2017 Air Max 97 (which took aesthetic cues from the original Air Tuned Max ‘Celery’ from 1999).
The Nike Air Tuned Max ‘Metallic Silver’ will release on July 27 from Nike and selected retailers.
The Air Tuned Max is not the only cult favourite silhouette receiving love in 2021. The Nike Air Huarache has also made a blazing comeback thanks largely to its coveted Stussy collaboration retro. Make sure to check out why the ‘Scream Green’ is still a killer.
