A legendary sneaker of 1990s basketball, the Nike Air More Uptempo was first made famous by Scottie Pippen in 1996. Extending the larger-than-life aesthetics of the 90s, the oversized ‘AIR’ letterform on the sneaker originally paid homage to the street art and pop art circulating the globe in the lead-up to the new millennium.

Originally designed by Wilson Smith, the Air More Uptempo continues to show pace in 2021, the silhouette already rendered in multiple colourways, including the wild ‘Maximum Volume’ and clean ‘Sky Blue’ fade.

We’ve now got our first look at the latest black, silver and white rendition, the Air More Uptempo manufactured in clean black tumbled leather uppers. Emblazoned by metallic silver ‘AIR’ lettering, the Air More Uptempo is highlighted by subtle accents of pink and green.

Look for the Air More Uptempo to release in the coming weeks. The retail price tag is set at $170.

Competing with other mid-90s heavyweights like the Air Jordan 11, Penny Hardaway’s Air Penny, and Gary Payton’s Zoom Flight 95, the Air More Uptempo forged its own path. Make sure to check out our feature on the Air More Uptempo, right here.
