The Nike Air Max Plus Plunges into Pink for Atlanta
The is the latest silhouette to join the Swoosh’s ‘City Special’ series, plunging into pink for Atlanta to celebrate the occasion. And the notorious Plus looks right at home in the colour scheme which boasts a couple of subtle fades, before finishing off with golden ‘ATL’ lace dubraes.
Other members of the ‘City Special’ collection include a homage to New York’s yellow taxis, and a tribute to Los Angeles. Exactly why pink has been chosen to push the Atlanta theme remains unstated at this point, but maybe it’s referencing the Atlanta house and car that 2 Chainz painted in all pink a few years to help promote his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album? That’s purely speculation at this point, so definitely don’t quote us on that one.
First arriving on the sneaker scene in 1998, the Air Max Plus was the eye-catching creation of industry veteran Sean McDowell. The hypnotic upper takes design cues from Florida’s swaying palm trees and vibrant evening skies.
Pairs of the ‘City Special’ Nike Air Max Plus in pink are expected to land on February 26 via Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.
