The Nike  Air Max 97 has hatched an Easter colourway, the women’s sizes release set to join Beaverton’s ever-growing collection of colourful builds for the annual event. And it’s a little brighter than the more traditional pastel shades that Team Swoosh tend to slap onto their Easter iterations, this time adding pink, purple and ‘Volt’ to the otherwise clean white base. This festive rendition comes hot on the heels of a bunch of other Easter-themed Nike designs that have already been unveiled, including an Air Max 95, Air Max 90, and  Air Jordan 12.

According to sneaker mythology, the Air Max 97 was inspired by a Japanese bullet train – hence the  ‘Silver Bullet’ nickname given to the OG colourway. However, the mind behind the AM97, Christian Tresser, has previously explained that the layered upper was actually inspired by ripples of water in a pond.

Pairs of this Easter-themed Air Max 97 are expected to hit Nike and selected Swoosh stockists in women’s sizing in the lead up to – or maybe even on – the Easter weekend. Hop to it!
