The Nike Air Max 96 II Brings the BluesRelease: TBC
The Nike Air Max 96 II is on a bit of a hot streak at the moment, seemingly popping up daily with a new colourway for future release. This latest offering is a mostly tonal scheme accented with careful additions of blue to the key branding points, and part of the outsole tread. This follows on very closely from last week’s unveiling of the ‘Cool Grey’ edition, and the update for the patriotic USA dressing.
In the midst of celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Air Max 96 has already returned in its mystical OG ‘Golden Rod’ colourway earlier in 2021. Often over-shadowed by its higher profile siblings – the Air Max 95 and Air Max 97 – the AM96 is a hidden jewel within the expansive Air Max range.
Boasting a period-correct material combo of leather and mesh, this upcoming release merges a tonal mix of sandy hues across its upper, while a clean white midsole above a black outsole provides clear contrast. On the topic of that sole, Nike have returned to the original mould, after the 2016 ‘retro’ opted for the sole unit from the Air Max 95 Ultra.
This blue-accented Air Max 96 II is expected to arrive fairly soon at Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.
