The Nike  Air Max 95 is preparing to release in a handsome navy colourway, with a neat material mix accentuating the silhouette’s famous layered upper. Light blue contrast hits the branding points across the design, while the mini Swoosh on the mudguard rocks silver to add another pop. An additional, somewhat hidden, blast of contrast arrives when the sun goes down, with a strong 3M reflective strip running along the upper.

A legendary creation from revered Nike designer Sergio Lozano, the concept for the Air Max 95 is said to have been inspired on a  rainy Beaverton day. Staring out his office window in search of a fresh idea, Lozano started daydreaming about the falling rain slowly eroding the local landscape to unearth the strata below the surface. This geological concept of previously hidden layers expanded in Lozano’s mind when he later considered the anatomy of a foot, which also features a layered build – this time the muscle fibres and flesh under the skin.

Pairs of this navy Air Max 95 are expected to land soon at Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.
