The Nike  Air Max 95 will be joining the ‘Surplus Supply’ crew, adopting the same mil-spec approach and utilitarian aesthetic seen recently on the Air Max 90 from that collection. Like that AM90, this rendition uses a combo of olives, greys and black to tell its story, and also features military-inspired writing on the visible Air unit. However, instead of the removable shroud on the lacing unit, the AM95 goes for cargo pouches on the tongues. The silhouette also uses a range of materials to complete the build, which happily elevates that utilitarian vibe.

According to Air Max lore, the idea for the AM95’s signature layered upper came to Nike designer Sergio Lozano while he was staring out of his office window on a rainy Beaverton day in the early 1990s. Imagining the falling rain eroding the landscape to unearth the strata below, Lozano had the beginnings of an idea.

Just like the Air Max 90 from this collection, pairs of this utilitarian Air Max 95 will hit select regions in Asia on March 19, while we wait for news of a wider release. We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything.
