Official images recently surfaced of another Nike Air Huarache colourway that had old heads in a bit of a feeding frenzy. Known to these OG collectors as simply the black and white edition from 1992, its first-ever return almost 30 years later has a new generation bestowing a new nickname, as the modern sneakersphere is wont to do. As such, for ease of reference (and search engine brownie points), this Air Huarache is now known as the ‘Orca’. Regardless of the nickname, this retro is a killer release.

Nike Air Huarache releases in 2021 have been nothing short of well done, though ‘raw’ would be a suitable descriptor for these too. Tenuous analogies to steak aside, black nylon toe boxes and matching neoprene Dynamic Fit (the official nomenclature per early Tinker Hatfield sketches) bootie are a bold colour flip against white leather panels. The inverted white and black round Huarache logo is also to 1992 specs, and pleasing for anyone keeping track of the differences. Anyone with personal experience of 2021 releases should also expect immense comfort and sharp on-foot looks. Fantastic.

Asphaltgold have shot a sweet little clip celebrating the return of the Nike Air Huarache ‘Orca’. Check out the art house cinema below ahead of the June 11 drop date.
