The Nike Air Force 1 Joins the Sashiko SceneRelease: TBC
The Nike Air Force 1 is set to join the ‘Sashiko’ scene, following in the successful wake of Swoosh stablemates the SB Dunk and Air Jordan 4. It’s a busy build, applying multiple patterns from the traditional Japanese decorative embroidery, mixing deep blues with black and white for a warm aesthetic, while gold lettering on the heel panel provides an extra hit of contrast. A clean white midsole sets a clean platform for the design, above what looks like a partially icy outsole.
After launching way back in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 has retained its place in the sneaker zeitgeist almost 40 years on. Having gradually branched out from its hardwood origins, the AF-1 continues to be one of the best-selling lifestyle sneakers in the world, and attracts a level of reverence that is super hard to shake. The Bruce Kilgore design has proven timeless – including the sole unit that has had a major impact on the world of sneakers.
Pairs of the Nike Air Force 1 ‘Sashiko’ are expected to land soon via Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.,
