Nike’s plant-inspired collection seems to be growing by the day, with official images now emerging of an Air Force 1 that pays homage to pomegranate. This comes after news last month of a similar theme for the Blazer Mid, the steady stream of cork-infused creps, and a ‘True Indigo’ Air Force 1. Like all of those releases, the crowning glory of this AF-1 is the embroidered image of its plant inspiration on the tongue, while pomegranate also gets a mention on the heel branding.

The upper mixes leather with canvas to further highlight the contrast between black and tan, while white hits the midsoles and laces. Down below, a cork aesthetic takes care of the outsoles, a look that’s matched on the heel stripes and lace dubraes.

The Air Force 1’s evolution from 1980s baller to timeless lifestyle model has allowed it to maintain a key presence in today’s sneaker zeitgeist. The legendary silhouette is still getting the job done almost 40 after its initial release, thanks mostly to its ability to continually deliver both collaborative and GR heat.

No confirmation has been given for when these pomegranates will ripen, but pairs are expected to start hitting Nike and select Swoosh stockists very soon.
