Adding to the messy footprints of the recently unveiled  Blazer Mid ’77, it seems Nike will also be splashing paint over the Air Force 1. Adopting a similar approach to the Blazer, this AF-1 starts with a fairly blank canvas, before adding pops of colour via blue, yellow, black and red paint splatters. Where this rendition differs from the Blazer is the paint drops that have landed all over the laces, plus there’s a speckled midsole that really enhances the colourful vibe.

After first hitting the scene way back in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 remains a prominent part of the sneaker zeitgeist almost 40 years on. Following the gradual evolution beyond its hardwood origins, the AF-1 continues to be one of the best-selling lifestyle sneakers on the planet, and attracts a level of reverence that is the envy of many. The Bruce Kilgore design has become timeless – including the sole unit that has had a major impact on the broader world of sneakers.

Also like the Blazer Mid, release details for this AF-1 are a little abstract at the moment, but they are expected to hit stores fairly soon. Keep your eyes on Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.
