The Nike Air Force 1 Joins the NBA’s 75th Anniversary CelebrationsRelease: TBC
The Nike Air Force 1 is preparing to join the NBA’s 75th anniversary celebrations, following the steady stream of leaks already seen featuring multiple Dunks. So far there’s been images of the Chicago-inspired Dunk, the Knicks-themed Dunk, and the Nets-flavoured Dunk, which has plenty of sneakerheads speculating just how deep this pack will run.
This Air Force 1 adopts a grey, black and crimson colour combination, with a neat material mix thrown in for good measure. As with the Dunks in the ever-growing collection, there’s also the ‘75th anniversary’ tongue tags featuring Jerry West’s iconic silhouette from the NBA logo, and the diamond-etched lace dubraes – 75 years is traditionally the diamond anniversary.
While it doesn’t span back quite as far as 75 years, the Air Force 1 is a genuine old school baller. The first Nike basketball shoe to feature ‘Air’ cushioning, the AF-1 was a real game-changer when it first hit the hardwood back in 1982. Now more of a lifestyle option, the AF-1’s enviable longevity was recently highlighted by the fact it was the USA’s top-selling sneaker for the first half of 2021.
Pairs of this celebratory Air Force 1 are expected to arrive with the rest of the NBA pack in October this year.
