The Nike Air Force 1 Gets Mean in Purple and GreenRelease: TBC
The Nike Air Force 1 is preparing to get mean in purple and green, rocking a colourway that will remind many of a certain Gotham City villain. While those colour pops steal most of the attention, the rest of this AF-1 is decked out in a clean white upper and midsole, before a gum outsole provides an additional embellishment.
After debuting on the hardwood in 1982 as the first Nike basketball shoe to incorporate ‘Air’ cushioning, the Air Force 1 slowly morphed from 80s baller to omnipresent lifestyle model. The fact it remains a key member of 2021’s sneaker zeitgeist is testament to the AF-1’s truly timeless aesthetic, which is still a favourite choice among sneakerheads almost 40 years after its initial release. It’s so timeless, in fact, that it made our list of tips for sneakerheads that have recently become parents – encouraging mums and dads to be a little more savvy with their rotation selections.
Pairs of this allegedly villainous Air Force 1 are expected to emerge soon at Nike and selected Swoosh stockists.
