The next  Nike  Adapt BB 2.0 colourway is preparing to go back to the future, with an aesthetic that borrows heavily from the original Nike Mag. In fact, it’s a closer match to the Adapt BB colourway that dropped last year, but most pop culture aficionados will be more interested in the likeness with the Swoosh’s self-lacing high, high top that wowed audiences way back in 1989 when Back to the Future Part II first hit cinemas.

These pics are potentially of a children’s sized model, but a full size run is expected to be available within the next few months. The 2016 retros of the Nike Mag average around $26,000 per pair on the resale market so, depending on your budget, the Nike Adapt BB 2.0 ‘Mag’ might be the closest you get to owning a pair of sneakers that holds equal footing in the Venn diagram that connects popular culture with sneaker culture.

Naturally, we can’t tell you what to do, but in the words of the good Doc, ‘Your future is whatever you make it. So, make it a good one!’

Update: Nike have scheduled in the Adapt BB 2.0 'Mag' release for the culturally-significant date of October 21. Pull out your Sports Almanac and place some guaranteed wins if you're a few dollars short of the $350 retail...
