The has added some colour to its collection, emerging in a release that is highlighted by heavy doses of blue. Starting with a brand-correct black, white and grey base, this 990v2 wears blue across key points on the upper, before the shade also plays a minor role on the midsole and outsole.
While the title ‘iconic’ tends to be thrown around a fair bit in the world of sneakers these days, the New Balance 990 puts forward a pretty strong case to be defined as such. A product of NB’s quest to make the best running shoe on the market, since the 990 debuted in 1982 it has gone on to inspire five iterations – with a genuinely fanatic fandom joining along the way. With the silhouette closing in on its 40th birthday, the folks from Beantown have been celebrating early with their ‘MADE Version Series’. So far, we’ve seen commemorative renditions of the , , and .
