Over the years, the New Balance  1500 has rocked an array of good looks, and this latest ‘Steel Blue’ rendition deserves to sit up amongst them. Sure, it’s not actually called ‘Blue Steel’, but it’s still worth quoting Derek Zoolander and saying this release is really, really, really, ridiculously good looking.

Yet another high quality Made in England creation from the team at New Balance, this product of Flimby dresses in multiple shades of blue across its mesh and suede upper, before being joined by minor touches of grey and white for further contrast. Adopting the original 1500 shape, comfort is assured in this carefully crafted silhouette thanks to the ENCAP midsole.

Originally introduced in 1989, and designed by the legendary Steven Smith, the NB1500 is considered by many as the greatest New Balance silhouette of all-time. With its sleek lines, a moulded ENCAP midsole, and that small embroidered ‘N’ logo, the old school runner remains a beloved icon to this day. Fun fact: it was also a running shoe of choice for Bill Clinton when he was in office during the 1990s.

Pairs of the New Balance 1500 ‘Steel Blue’ haven’t been released via New Balance just yet, but are available at some NB stockists – such as Up There.
