The NBA x Nike Air Force 1 'Lakers' Are Championship WorthyRelease: 23 October 2021
The NBA is celebrating a 75th season in 2021-22, so before the campaign tips off in full Nike are honouring the league in their own special way: with a squad of team-themed sneaker releases. We've already seen franchise-specific styles of the Dunk Low for the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets, and one of the league's other premier teams – the Los Angeles Lakers – are in the mix as well with their very own Air Force 1 Low.
The Los Angeles Lakers' championship greatness extends all the way back to the 1950s when the team was based in Minneapolis, so this low-cut Lakers Air Force 1 opts for an original Minneapolis Lakers colour scheme of white and sky blue – but works some modern Lake Show purple in on its lateral quarter, medial Swoosh, toe box Swoosh and foxing as well. There's also a Lakers logo on each heel, a 75th anniversary NBA badge on the tongues, and silver lace dubraes.
Will LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook stay healthy and secure the Lakers' 18th NBA Championship this season? That we don't know yet, but we do know that you'll be able to cop a pair of these Air Force 1s for €109.95 at 43einhalb on October 8.
