The Miami Hurricanes football team has one of the most recognisable kit colours around and, as the case has been for a few years now, equally distinct sneakers by way of their ongoing partnership with adidas. Having already lent their alma mater’s green and orange to the UltraBOOST, the Hurricanes’ next inspired release is the new-gen Ultra4D that follows the conventions of its predecessor.

The UltraBOOST and Ultra4D share a lot of DNA – after all, the latter owes its uppers to the former. Which means stretchy, breathable, and all those other beneficial adjectives Primeknit is used across the majority of the upper. And it’s arranged in the aforementioned green and orange weave, further accented by solid blocks of orange mesh on the external heel counter, tongue tab, and lining. While the external lace cage/stripe branding ups the contrast with crisp white lines. As this is the Ultra4D, its namesake 4D sole appears underfoot, though it’s curiously been rendered in creamy beige as opposed to something more tonal, which suggests adidas are still a bit limited in the palette department for their latest sole technology.

The adidas Ultra4D in Miami Hurricanes colours will release on August 1 at select retailers, including Overkill.
