The Jordan Zion 1 Gets Into the Olympic Spirit
The is getting into the Olympic spirit, emerging in a colour scheme that’s synonymous with Team USA. Dubbed either , the colourway traditionally reps the red, white and blue of the USA flag, plus some careful doses of gold to denote the ultimate in athletic endeavour.
Specifically designed for the explosive athleticism of a power forward – just like its namesake – the Zion 1 also rocks distinctive lettering and superhero armour to nail down its strong aesthetic. According to the Senior Footwear Designer for Jordan Sport, Vianney de Montgolfier, ‘Zion’s main inspirations for the look of the shoe was superhero armour. But when we thought about an icon or symbol that could clearly draw out the shoe’s benefits, the “Z” made perfect sense to us. It’s the letter for speed, it has the base for power, and it’s maybe the most distinguishable letter in the alphabet. There’s nothing else like it.’
