ENFANTS RICHES DÉPRIMÉS, or ERD for short, is an LA-based conceptual luxury brand from the mind of Henri Alexander Levy. In less than a decade since the label’s 2012 founding, a combination of celebrity clout, punk visuals, and limited supply has kept demand and RRPs high. They’re no strangers to collaboration either, having just announced their fourth colab with Vans, again on the Sk8-Hi.

ERD have again dressed up the Sk8-Hi in washed and lightly distressed black canvas befitting of the aesthetic that has made the brand so popular. This broken-in look is likely randomised for each pair, and they’re finished with extra attachments and graphics depicting edgy motifs. The right lateral ankle has a stitched-on, raw edge (of course) fabric patch, while the left lateral forefoot shows the quote: ‘image of a boy’s mouth being electrocuted’. Finishing accessories include waxed electric blue laces – quite a nice touch – and a sterling silver lighter clip on the left ankle collar.

The ENFANTS RICHES DÉPRIMÉS x Vans Sk8-Hi will release on September 20 directly from ERD and Mr Porter. It will be priced at an eye-watering $815 – up over $200 from the 2017 edition. However, considering the included sterling silver lighter clip was previously sold for $125 standalone, the value proposition here feels slightly more palatable.
