The Awake NY x ASICS GEL-Preleus Is On the Way!
have recently been absolutely nailing sneaker collaborations left, right and centre. The New York streetwear brand have added their signature aesthetic to models such as the , and . Ever since their last colab, we’ve been waiting patiently for their next instalment – and finally it has arrived!
If you can remember a couple of months back, Awake NY’s founder Angelo Baque this upcoming collaboration with ASICS through a close-up shot via his IG. We didn’t know what the model was, but now we know it is the GEL-Preleus. An early 2000s silhouette, it originally released way back in 2001, and Awake have now breathed new life into the 19-year-old shoe with loud prints and pops of colour.
Taking a look at the upper, they’ve used silver across most of it, with hints of bright green and blue for some colour, and then a semi-hidden base of animal print. Awake branding lays subtly on the lateral toe box and the tongue.
