The Air Jordan 13 ‘Obsidian’ Is Ready to Pounce at JD Sports
After first hitting news feeds back in June this year, the ‘Obsidian’ is preparing to touch down at . A super clean rendition, this release has had fans from all over the world clamouring to get their hands on the model that features more than one reference to a prowling panther.
Wearing a clean white leather upper, the ‘Obsidian’ scheme gets its name from the contrasting shade that provides a base for the shoe, before ‘Dark Powder Blue’ lands on the outsole and tongue branding for a final splash of colour.
As for those panther-inspired design cues, legendary designer modelled the Air Jordan 13’s distinctive outsole pattern on the shape of the big cat’s paw – a neat little homage to intimidating nickname of the ‘Black Cat’. MJ got that moniker thanks to the way he stalked his prey on the basketball court, moving smoothly and gracefully before striking at just the right time. In addition to the feline-inspired outsole shape, the AJ13 also boasts a holographic jewel insert on the lateral heel of each shoe, mimicking the mesmerising swirl of a cat’s eye.
