The is ready to glitter in gold – ‘Metallic Gold’ to be precise – after official images emerged of a GS model adorned with the precious metal. Predominantly dressed in black, the golden sparkles on this release arrive on the outsole, above the midsole, and all the way up the heel.
The AJ13 has experienced something of a cultural resurgence in 2020, sparked in-part by the wild success of ESPN’s , which had global audiences engrossed earlier this year. The feline-inspired design was on feet throughout the 1997/98 NBA season, proving that 13 isn’t an unlucky number of everyone.
Modelled on the ominous black panther, the Tinker Hatfield–designed Air Jordan 13 finessed a unique outsole pattern that was based on the shape of a paw, and blessed the lateral side of the ankle with a holographic jewel that mimics a cat’s eye. The sleek design was unlike anything the Jordan line had seen before when it first hit the court in the late 90s.
