The Air Jordan 1 ‘University Blue’ Release Has Been Delayed

Air Jordan 1 University Blue 555088-134

Another hotly anticipated Jordan release has been pushed back a number of weeks: the Air Jordan 1 ‘University Blue’. While leaks and on-foot previews of this blue-blocked sneaker have been relatively abundant, it’s good odds that those pairs have been obtained through, let’s say, unofficial channels. What is official, though, is the changed release date at this stage.

ICYMI, the AJ1 ‘University Blue’ continues the rather long-running trend of Jordan Brand pumping out new colourways using OG-esque colour-blocking and switching up the materials. In this case, the namesake shade is expressed using brushed suede, placed adjacent to stark white leather panels and nylon tongues. Black introduces itself as a third accent colour, covering the ankle collar, laces, and Swoosh. Below, a two-toned white and ‘University Blue’ midsole houses Air cushioning inside its rubber walls. It is called the Air Jordan 1, after all.

Originally slated to drop on February 20, the release is now scheduled for March 6. This falls just under two weeks before the start of the March Madness basketball tournament – which will only have even more sneaker drops. So, it’s looking like March is gonna be an expensive month. Will the Air Jordan 1 ‘University Blue’ be your No. 1 pick?
