If you tried to get your hands on one of the four colourways of the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 last week and you missed out, then you’re in luck because there will be a wider release!

The remastered vintage basketball crep was first shown-off late last month. An OG that dropped back in 1989, it hasn’t been touched until now. According to ALD’s founder Teddy Santis, it was a hard shoe to find information on, making it somewhat of an enigma within the sneakersphere.

Reviving the Basketball Oxfords, the clean, classic, vintage-inspired look slots in perfectly with the rest of Aimé Leon Dore’s catalogue. Taking us back in time, the crew have used white as the base with perforated leather adorning both sides. While matching pre-yellowed midsoles and tonal laces help inject the silhouette with that pre-worn vibe. Different coloured accents add a pop of colour, the 550 branding lays along the lateral toe box, and the iconic ’N’ stands proudly along the sides with ALD making their mark on the tongue.

Four different colourways of the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 dropped on October 9, however, only the red pair will be receiving a wider release. Peep the detailed imagery above, and expect to find it on October 15 at select retailers such as END.
