It looks like Kanye West’s long-anticipated adidas Yeezy Basketball ‘Quantum’ is finally getting a wider release, the idiosyncratic sneaker slated for May.

Originally dispatched from Yeezy tanks in Chicago during All-Star Weekend, Ye’s maiden basketball silhouette caused controversy when it was first revealed. The shoe reportedly banned by the NBA for the heavy use of 3M reflective detailing.

Bearing resemblance to the ever-popular Yeezy BOOST 350 V2, the Yeezy Basketball ‘Quantum’ is a mashup of retro basketball sneakers from the vault, remastered through the avant-garde Yeezy lens. With a lace-up neoprene bootie, semi-translucent casing, and responsive BOOST cushioning, the Yeezy Basketball will no doubt trigger heat on the hardwood once the NBA is back in action.
