The adidas Valencia Continues a Spanish Sneaker Romance

It seems adidas are going on a fairly in-depth world tour with their City Series sneakers. The next stop of inspired models is the Valencia which is, of course, named after Spain’s third largest city. However, the inspiration only goes as far as the name, seeing as the colourway doesn’t lean into the typical red and yellow used on overtly Spanish sneakers.

Instead, a tasteful low key combination of ‘Collegiate Navy and ‘Halo Blue’ dip the leather upper, which features suede heel counters and T-shaped toe box overlays for a bit of textural depth. The sole is lifted from another adi terrace classic, the Jeans MK 2, and its green midsole slab adds another nice accent, while the lightly rippled outsole contrasts in the aforementioned ‘Halo Blue’.

As most of the City Series sneakers have featured so far, the Valencia is finished in gold-foil stamped branding on the lateral panel, plus a City Series callout and the year 2021 written in Roman numerals. The insoles also display repeating heritage adidas and Trefoil logos on a textile face fabric.

The adidas Valencia is due to release on March 19 via raffle from selected retailers such as Goodhood.
