Disney have teamed up with adidas for two distinctive takes on the UltraBOOST, each design paying homage to beloved cartoon dog Goofy. Choose from either a black design featuring colourful artwork of Goofy playing some of his favourite sports, or a black and white version that features similar sketches of one of Mickey Mouse’s closest pals.

Fun fact: rumour has it that the widespread skateboarding and surfing term ‘goofy footer’ was actually inspired by Goofy himself, due to him appearing in a 1937 Disney film called Hawaiian Holiday, surfing with his big right foot leading the way. Sure enough, these UltraBOOST pairs depict Goofy surfing and skating in the stance that he supposedly gave his name to. Just don’t tell anyone that he was actually seen surfing in both stances in Hawaiian Holiday all those decades ago.

While Mickey Mouse is no stranger to collaborative footwear, it’s not every day you see a pair of sneakers dedicated to arguably the world’s best-known anthropomorphic dog. An official release date hasn’t been revealed just yet, but pairs are expected to hit adidas and selected Three Stripes stockists very soon. If you get yourself a pair, you’ll be laughing.
