The adidas TRDC has been in circulation for about a year now, and the Trediac-inspired silhouette’s proclivity for collaboration has kept it in the spotlight since that launch. Now, it’s growing out of its low-cut form and into a mid-height edition, aptly named the TRDC Mid, which looks to be equally at home on trail and footpath.

Here, the ex-trail runner wholly embraces its off-road past by adopting a hi-vis colourway that pits particularly clashing shades of bright blue and maroon, plus some pastel orange for good measure. Appearances can be deceiving, however, as the suede and ripstop nylon upper combo is still super beefy for any off-road misadventures, which the heightened ankle guard and tongue will provide protection with ease.

Where the upper has been modified, the midsole has not. It’s still using more or less the same adiPRENE compound that’s provided cushy comfort for decades, and it’s paired to a very technical outsole design that still holds its own. Completing the practical ethos, large pull tabs are added to the heel and tongue, plus multiple ankle eyelets allow for plenty of fit adjustment.

The adidas TRDC Mid is out now from Japanese retailer atmos, but expect them to hit international retailers soon.
