Take a Closer Look at the Nike Kyrie 7
It’s been a while since we’ve seen on the NBA hardwood, but the brain’s trust have been busy preparing his seventh signature silhouette, the Nike Kyrie 7 recently unveiled by the Swoosh.
Conceptually built to support Irving’s sporadic, ankle-breaking (for the defender!) playing style, the Kyrie 7 was again constructed by Nike Senior Footwear Designer Ben Nethongkome.
According to Nethongkome, ‘For us, being creative means tapping into other disciplines at Nike. Our solutions as designers need to move toward technical advantages. Those advantages are what make this shoe better than the last.’
Replacing the strap with two TPU ‘fingers’, the design pays homage to an exercise Kyrie’s father imparted: placing two fingers against the wall to strengthen his fingers.
Releasing in four ‘Preheat’ colourways, each of the designs will come in a mystery box so the customer won’t know which pair they have secured!
Built with a composite mesh upper, and Air Zoom Turbo unit, the Kyrie 7 will launch on November 11.
