An ‘error 404’ might be the last thing you want to see when you’re trying to cop sneakers – but what if the prompt is actually emblazoned on your Air Force 1s? The cyborgs at .SWOOSH have been busy in the lab of late, with Nike’s Web3 crew launching their official website back in late 2022. The home of Nike’s virtual manifestations, the division is currently led by VP Ron Faris, the former head of the Nike SNKRS app.

Made available exclusively for members of Nike’s .SWOOSH NFT community, the real-world Air Force 1 is a tongue-in-cheek allusion to the dreaded 404 error. The first thing you’ll notice is undoubtedly the fact that this model removes the main Swooshes on the uppers, giving the whole aesthetic an uncanny, almost high fashion feel. Rendered in the beloved ‘Royal Blue’ hue, the Air Force 1 is stamped with the message: ‘404 Error, the requested Upper was not found’ – obviously alluding to the missing Swoosh. On the insoles, lines of code enhance the theme. The sneaker’s packaging also extends the playful digital narrative by inverting the Air Force 1 branding on the box, while extra goodies come in the form of .SWOOSH stickers.

Currently, there’s no official word on a release date, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.

In the meantime, why not take a dive down the digital rabbit hole as we unpack the world of AI generated sneakers.
