Stussy Releasing Limited Edition Hand-Dyed Nike Air Force 1 Colab
If you missed out on both the ‘Fossil’ and ‘Black’ colourways of the hemp-uppered, subtly branded x from last month, here is another chance at them – sort of. Stussy have called upon the services of Lookout & Wonderland – a small Los Angeles-based company specialising in natural fibres – to hand-dye a small batch of the Bone AF-1s in five unique colourways.
According to Stussy, each distinct colour corresponds to the cities representing the brand’s World Tour series, which includes New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, and Paris. The colours selected are blue, yellow, grey, green, and red. Due to the unique dyeing method (which you can see in the below video), no two pairs should look the same.
Interestingly, the natural dyes Lookout & Wonderland have used on these AF-1s haven’t penetrated the lining too deeply, which means there is polyester component to the material composition. In turn, there shouldn’t be much pigment transfer onto socks – assuming these shoes are worn at all. A practical touch in any case.
At this stage, this Stussy x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration will release on January 29 via Stussy’s webstore at 10AM PST. There is no word of a (unlikely) wider drop.
