After posting cryptic messaging regarding their new in-house brand, Studio Hagel have revealed in entirety their first original sneaker. Known as the HAGEL Shroud, this highly conceptual design is matched with high quality materials and a pretty high price tag too.

The HAGEL Shroud is the direct outcome of Studio Hagel’s ‘MakersMondays’, a weekly session where the team work on experimental creations. Back in 2018, a Nike Cortez was remixed with a shrouded cover – as reported in Sneaker Freaker Issue 40 – which proved the catalyst for this new model.

After refining the design, Studio Hagel sourced leather from ECCO in vibrant ‘RTE Mango’, and tweaked the proportions of the shoe to have ‘perfect imperfections’. To highlight the ongoing design process, the HAGEL Shroud features nods to its inspirations and some behind-the-scenes process hidden throughout.

Studio Hagel founder Mathieu Hagelaars remarks that the HAGEL Shroud is ‘our biggest experiment ever’. However, as the innovative mad scientist of the sneakersphere has proven time and time again, his studio’s output is only bound to get even crazier.

The HAGEL Shroud will be available from February 21 exclusively from Studio Hagel and is priced at 450 Euros. More colourways are expected to come in the future.
