Students Run Philly Style x Diadora Game High Nods To a Sweet Philadelphia TreatRelease: 11 November 2021
It may not have the global cultural cachet of the cheesesteak, but a cold, sweet 'water ice' is an important part of any Philadelphia summer. Therefore, it's only fitting that Students Run Philly Style – a charitable organisation that aims to 'transform (the lives of) students through running and mentorship' – looked to 'water ice' for inspiration after being tapped for a Diadora colab.
Reworking their Game High sneaker (a trainer from the 1970s) with a full-grain leather upper, waxed treatment and aged detailing, the SRPS team also added a signature 'water ice' graphic on the lateral heel to nod to the City Of Brotherly Love's favourite dessert. Insoles get in on the action too, boasting a map of the Schuylkill River Trail that was hand-painted by SRPS youth artist Celeste Ortiz-Lugo.
Limited to only 200 pairs, the Students Run Philly Style x Diadora Game High is available now on the Students Run Philly Style webstore, and will receive an in-store drop at famous Philadelphia sneaker shop P's & Q's on November 11. It's priced at $200, and 100 per cent of its proceeds go towards SRPS's mentorship program.
