Update December 8, 2021: After its Stray Rats-exclusive drop on December 10, the Stray Rats x New Balance 991 will also hit the New Balance web store and select global retailers on December 17. Both pairs draw their colourway inspiration from vintage robot and mech figures, were made in the UK and will be priced at $250.
Hot damn! The end of 2021 is quickly looking to be one for the books, as dozens of releases look to slip in right before the year is up. Up next is none other than ' incoming collaboration with and their 991 model.
Many have kept their eyes eagerly peeled for this previously pending drop, and now the wait is finally over (well part of it), as an official arrival date has been pencilled in. The love affair between the New York label and NB is ongoing, with this 991 following on from the previous duo of hot pink and mossy green , the 'Sewer Stomper' , and also those . If anything has become synonymous from the brands' joined efforts, it's the fact that the results are nothing short of attention grabbing.
We received a at this latest colab earlier in the year, with some rather lo-fi – yet on-brand – images doing the rounds online. The images didn't reveal much at all, which only served as an even greater catalyst for its already building hype. Built in premium nubuck and suede, one pair features hits of purple, brown and green, while the other has been dressed in black and grey, but not without a dash of complementary purple – naturally. Topping it all off is that reflective 3M goodness.
