Staud’s Latest New Balance 574 and 57/40 Colab is ‘Classic Then, Classic Now’
LA lifestyle label are continuing their long partnership with by releasing a new duo of the popular and its inspired descendant, the . Based around the idea of ‘Classic Then, Classic Now’, Staud push the versatility of these NB models to the max, pairing simple grey foundations with fun injections of colour and plenty of personalisation options.
Starting with the 574 – very much the embodiment of ‘Classic Then, Classic Now’ – Staud stick to a familiar grey suede base for most of the upper, but add textural depth via smooth nylon inserts in the toe box, tongue and rear quarter. It’s these secondary panels that provide the space for Staud to splash bright primary colours of red, green and blue, which is also joined by sunny yellow. The heel counters are also rendered in contrasting colours and feature super hairy suede. Similarly, the 57/40 makes full use of its complex layered upper to display multiple colours – and this edition also bears the distinction of introducing translucent panels to the model.
The Staud x New Balance collection comes packaged in a special box, and includes additional laces, complementing the accent colours to enable dozens of combinations to mix and match. October 26 is when the colab drops exclusively at Staud and New Balance stores.
