Spotted: Friends And Family Nike Air Force 1 for Scarr’s Pizza
Sometimes, icons simply have to be celebrated. Two important symbols of New York – pizza and Nike Air Force 1s – have become one on a very special project. Connoisseur DJ Clark Kent and the team at Scarr’s Pizza have designed an extremely limited AF-1, based on the colours of the popular pizza shop.
Starting with a white leather base, the asymmetric coloured Swooshes utilise the orange and navy of Scarr’s shopfront sign. 3M-Reflective backs these Swooshes for extra detail. The tongue labels have been removed and instead display 22 Orchard St: the location of Scarr’s Pizza. A detail not often seen on new AF-1s is the embroidered Swoosh on the shoe’s throat, and it makes a welcome appearance here. The details continue on the excellent gum rubber outsole featuring coloured heel and ball pods. The midsole AIR logo is also dressed in Scarr’s colours, an area of the AF-1 that is rarely touched. Completing the package is Scarr’s Pizza embroidery on the heel counter, as well as additional callouts on the ankle lining and insole.
Wow, what a well-thought-out sneaker. It’s unlikely these will ever see a retail release and, according to Phil Chang, only around 40 pairs were made and given to friends and family of Scarr’s.

Scarr's Pizza AF1s!!!!!!!! _ "For the culture" gets thrown around very loosely, but few people exemplify what that actually means. Scarr is one of those people. He keeps the LES intact without getting stuck in the bitter nostalgia that turns you into an old head no one wants to be around. When I'm at Scarr's, two things jump out: 1) an understanding of heritage that only comes from lived experience. That's clear in everything from the decor to the countless - and insane - stories Scarr, Audie, and Los have on deck about the neighborhood and New York. Sit at the bar for 20 min when they're around instead of taking your order to-go. 2) An openness to change: Scarr's is a classic slice joint through and through, but the difference is that Scarr has never been afraid to break tradition if it'll make the product and experience better (you think Joe's gotchu if you vegan???). _ Understanding heritage and being open to change - it's a winning combination. _ Swipe through and peep the details. Firstly, Nike let Scarr, Audie, and Clark break out the original AF1 mold for these: you can hoop in them if you want (when's the last time you could say that about a pair of Forces?!). The NYC seal on the heel. The reflective 3M phone number for the shop (if you're zooted and forget their math). The embroidered dedications from Clark and Scarr in the footbeds and ankle lining. The Scarr's logo on the aglets. Classic leather tooling and gum outsoles. Less than 40 pairs made. Sometimes, you get to do em exactly right. _ Good looks to the OGs @scarrspizza, @audie5g, @djclarkkent, and my guy @theelegendarylos for holding me down! Go get a slice at Scarr's this week. I'll see you out front. 🍕👟🗽🏆

A true testament to the love of NYC and the best shop in town!! From the moments we all shared about the best AF1 to then hearing about it being made years later (and made right by actual heads!! the gum color alone shows) and now in our hands is really a special thing. Happy to be apart of the family thank you for the souvenir ❤️🍕 @scarrspizza @audie5g @djclarkkent and crew
Could this be shoe of the year? And one of the rarest Air Force 1s ever?
