Song For The Mute and adidas Reunite On the Adistar Cushion
Originally released in the mid-2000s as a running shoe, the has been enjoying a mini-revival as of late. And what better way to revel in the nostalgia than by romanticising it slightly? Sydney-based brand heard that call, and have teamed up with the Three Stripes to delve into a colab that explores the idea of dark romance and a ‘neo-nostalgic fantasy,’ using the Adistar Cushion as their canvas.
The collection – referred to as SFTM-004 – forms the duo’s fourth collaboration, and their previous link-ups have seen them work on models like the Shadowturf and . SFTM-004 features a trifecta of dark and moody Cushion colourways, with pairs arriving in jade green, metallic silver and warm brown shades. Each of these take on a tonal make-up, complimenting the textural feast up top. Glossy TPU, engineered mesh, soft suede, and silky satin all get a say here, while crushed velvet lace locks help to tie the pairs together. An adiPRENE-cushioned sole unit and adiWEAR outsole dial up the practicality factor. SFTM even shared an inside look at the process over on Instagram, so you can see how the colab came together.
The trio of Song For The Mute x adidas Adistar Cushions arrive as part of a wider clothing collection that includes tracksuits, sweats and joggers, and will be available to cop from the Trefoil from September 19. Hit the links below to get yours.
