Appointing a rapper as the Director of Football Development for a sports brand may seem a bit of a bone-headed decision on paper, but if you dig a little deeper you'll realise it's not such a publicity-hungry move after all. Not just a massive armchair fan of the NFL, Snoop is also a qualified football coach, runs his own that has schooled many champion prospects, and his son will line up as a wide receiver for UCLA after being offered a scholarship by just about every decent college in the USA. Maybe Snoop does know a little bit about football footwear, then, but it's his self-referential rap swag, not technical skill, that is most noticeable about this new Gameday Trainer. A dubré of golden dog teeth grills steals the show on the forefoot, while a dog illustration on the lining and upper also reference the video of Snoop's breakout hit, 'What's My Name?' The Snoop Dogg x adidas Gameday Trainer drops at Undefeated in Los Angeles on Friday, May 29 at a launch party, before a wider release on Eastbay and adidas' online store on June 1.
