Buongiorno From Amsterdam: Sneakerness Serves Up Italian FILA WAYNE and Pizzas

Inspired by sporting heritage and the brand’s Italian roots, harnesses the power of pizza to introduce their collaborative take on the FILA WAYNE. Paying homage to legend Wayne Ferreira and his signature model from 1991, the tasty tennis trainer was unveiled at an exclusive launch at the Amsterdam event held over May 25 and 26.

The design draws inspiration from the cosy vibes of traditional Italian pizzerias. From the chequered tablecloth insoles to rustic hits of green, yellow and red, the duo bring authentic warmth and charm to the WAYNE. Pizza references are found throughout, with a brick-inspired pattern inlaid at the rear as a nod to woodfire ovens, along with pizzeria-inspired hits on the tongue tags. The only things missing are the parmesan and chilli flakes!

It’s only right that Sneakerness and FILA set up a pop-up pizzeria for the Amsterdam launch. Opening day saw hungry punters descend on the ’Dam’s Kromhouthal to secure a slice from the in-house pizzaiolo and get their hands on the gourmet creps.
