Saucony Shadow 6000 Veg Tan Pack

Saucony are remaking three of their classic heritage designs in premium vegetable tanned leather as part of the appropriately named ‘Veg Tan’ pack. It consists of the Jazz, Jazz Court and Shadow 6000 models, which have been the foundations of the brand’s retro offering.

Vegetable tanned leather is often identified by its light beige skin coloured finish, but it won’t stay that way for long. Its traditional processing means the surface readily displays personalised characteristics with prolonged use: darkened panels, ergonomic glove-like fit, and a soft sheen. It also is a less impactful way of preparing leather as it uses natural tanning agents instead of chemicals.

As each model features complex uppers consisting of multiple panels, no two pairs will look the same as they undergo a long life of reliable use. Which, according to Saucony president Anne Cavassa, is better for the environment.

‘The Veg Tan pack… represents the best of the brand’s 123-year heritage; now with biodegradable leather, this beautiful classic trio inspires further self-expression in an authentic, planet-friendly and distinctively Saucony style.’

The Saucony ‘Veg Tan’ pack will begin launching next month directly from Saucony. The Jazz is scheduled for a February 4 release, while the remaining styles will come in following weeks.
