Saucony have championed the food-themed sneaker for a number of years now, and their next Shadow 6000 release compiles their tastiest drops yet with the ‘Food Fight’. It also happens to be the 30th anniversary of the Shadow 6000 in 2021, which explains the sudden influx of limited edition releases.

Like so many ‘What The’ styled sneakers, half the fun is trying to figure out all of the different colourways on show. Saucony have gone pretty far back in their archive, such as the 2013’s ‘Cotton Candy’, to more recent releases like 2019’s memorable ‘Avocado Toast’. As such, there’s an absolute smorgasbord of colours and materials used on the ‘Food Fight’, ranging from retro runner standards in suede and mesh, to more adventurous textures including tablecloth lace and checkerboard prints.

Behind the crazy colourway are improvements Saucony have made to their 30-year-old runner to keep up with their younger offspring. According to the brand, the midsoles are now made using PWRRUN foam, which is lighter, more flexible and better cushioned. As it’s used in their performance runners, it must be pretty comfy!

The Saucony Shadow 6000 ‘Food Fight’ will release on October 15 directly from Saucony and selected global retailers including Asphaltgold.
