Former Nike marketer and podcast host Bimma Williams has always defied the odds. His most recent collaboration with Saucony is a limited-edition colourway of the 3D Grid Hurricane that tells the story of his journey from a kid growing up in Louisiana to working with a major running brand.

It all started in 2012 at a running event where Williams had a chance encounter with a Saucony executive. He was offered a position at the company and has made the most of that opportunity.

Williams says, ‘This collaboration is near and dear to my heart; from my own beginnings in the footwear industry at Saucony to the heartfelt nod to my hometown of Louisiana through the name “3D Grid Hurricane". This partnership symbolises the value of following one’s dreams and staying true to one’s mission. The 3D Grid Hurricane sneaker is a testament to resilience and collaboration, co-designed by a dear friend of mine, John Humphrey of Beignet Boys in New Orleans.’

First launched in 1997, the 3D Hurricane Grid was originally conceived by Saucony’s first Black designer, John Acevedo.

The Bimma Williams x Saucony 3D Hurricane Grid retails for $150 and is now available for purchase at ClaimaStories.com and select retailers. $5 from every shoe will benefit All Hands Raised (AHR), an organisation dedicated to transforming the educational system through advancing equity for every child.
